Then fly to Bela Bela (previously named Warmbaths in English or Warmbad in Afrikaans) – now there’s a beautiful African name – and experience Africa at another up-market game lodge – and go on safari with game drives, health spa, swimming and relaxing under the African skies.

24 April 2007: Security on Trains: Does Metrorail (South Africa) Take Its Responsibility Seriously?

There are some things in life that we seem to accept no matter how wrong they may be. One such example is the standard of safety provided for train commuters. It appears that we have assumed that using a train is generally risky and that commuters should find ways of dealing with this problem. Thus, when using a train regular commuters would give tips to others as to what routes to use to avoid crime.

The train commuting environment is conducive to crime. It is fair to say that until the commuter gets to the train station, he/she is completely unprotected. The stark contrast to this commuter vulnerability is that—if one takes Kempton Park station (Gauteng) as an example—one sees a lot of police visibility by both members of the South African Police Services (SAPS) and the Metro Police. But once one moves off the main road -- a necessity for a train commuter—one enters no man’s land.

While the route to the station is undoubtedly not policed, it is more disturbing that even after reaching the station and after boarding the train the situation does not improve much. ……

Evidently, SAPS takes commuter safety more seriously than does Metrorail. SAPS has re-introduced railway police, for example. These railway police, however, cannot adequately provide the necessary security on the trains.

Fear not, this is not a scare tactic, just information awareness input. Most commuters who own computers in South Africa drive their own cars ..…..

The final segment is comprised of the Stubborn customers. This group will only use cars, and represents 3 million people, or 14% of the current urban population. This group is expected to grow by significantly between 1998 and 2020, which will create significant challenges for urban areas in terms of road infrastructure and congestion. Members of this segment opt out of the public transport system altogether by using their cars, and cost is a minor issue for these customers, compared to the much more salient concerns of convenience and speed. Their car dependence is enabled by the excellent urban road network in cities and adjacent suburbs where the stubborn residents tend to live.

Wow, what a performer. Miriam Backhouse. If you weren't there, you missed a treat. We had people in from as far afield as Bodmin who came to see what was happening.

Miriam really connected with the audience. so we had a fun night singing along with some songs we knew and some songs we learned.

It was one of those nights when the performance lived up to the anticipation.

Miriam Backhouse was the Kate Rusby of her day, before going to live in South Africa. She has been re establishing herself back on the folk circuit here, I have seen her at Warwick Festival and a couple of folk clubs, she does a great night of traditional songs and attracts people from far and wide (Sean Cannon turned up at one club to see her and he did a couple of songs too, it was great)

"Durban International Airport (DIA) could soon be renamed Moses Mabhida International Airport if Durban's Ethekwini municipality has its way, the Mercury reported on Friday.
Renaming the airport has been placed on the agenda of the next full council meeting of the Ethekwini municipality, which is expected to be held late January.

The move has raised the eyes of opposition parties who claim no formal resolution was put forward at an executive council meeting on Wednesday.

Moses Mabhida, the former general secretary of the SA Communist Party, died in 1986 in the Mozambican capital of Maputo.

Last week he was re-buried in Pietermaritzburg at a ceremony which saw President Thabo Mbeki being booed from the stage by supporters of ANC deputy president Jacob Zuma. ………

Zakumi is a fluffy young leopard with

green dreadlocks and a wide smile. Introduced to the world at a lavish event at the South African Broadcasting Corporation headquarters in Johannesburg yesterday,

“He’s young, vibrant, energetic, enthusiastic, sociable, self-confident and ambitious.” That’s how Danny Jordaan, head of the 2010 Fifa World Cup Local Organising Committee, described Zakumi, the football tournament’s mascot.

“Zakumi represents the people, geography and spirit of South Africa, personifying the essence the 2010 Fifa World Cup,” Fifa general-secretary Jerome Valcke said at the event.

Fifa have given their mascot a distinct personality and personal history. Zakumi was born on 16 June 1994, a day and a year of great significance in South Africa.

The 16th of June 1976 saw the beginning of the Soweto youth uprising, when schoolchildren took to the streets to protest against apartheid, many of them cut down by police gunfire.

And 1994 was the year that South Africans of all races cast their votes for the first time to elect a new post-apartheid democratic government.

With the slogan “Zakumi: the mascot with an attitude”, Fifa describe Zakumi’s personality as lively, outgoing, adventurous and spontaneous – a “shrewd little fellow”

They say he loves to perform and always follows his instinct and intuition, and has the tendency to exaggerate.

Zakumi was designed and his costume produced exclusively in South Africa. His name is a combination of “ZA”, South Africa’s domain name, and “Kumi”, which means “10” in a number of African languages.

Vasco da Gama of Portugal first saw the coast of KwaZulu-Natal on Christmas Day 1497 and therefore it was named Natal.

The proud Zulu nation is spread out throughout South Africa, but a lot still reside either in the cities or on what they term “the farm”. Traveling north from Durban the coast is called The Dolphin Coast and further into Zululand it is called The Elephant Coast. Traveling south from Durban there is the Hibiscus Coast, which like the north coast is divided into rural and agricultural communities.

Nearer the coast, the rolling hills of Natal shimmer in the wind with their acres and acres of sugar cane, and moving inland one finds the more natural rural areas, as well as the starkly beautiful thorn bush areas. Near the northern borders is the mountain range called the Drakensberg, named by the Dutch Voortrekkers – translated means the Dragon’s berg – and some of the best privately owned game farms are nearby.

Driving up the northern coastal areas there are several National Game Parks where the big five can be found. In the little dorp, (village) near the Swaziland border, Wakkerstroom the most prolific bird life in the whole of South African can be found.

The new airport for Durban feeding the KwaZulu-Natal area will be completed before the FIFA 2010 World Cup beginning 11 June to 11 July 2010. The whole area is a-buzz with building and preparations for the fantastic event which will truly make Africa part of the world community.

The Confederation Cup which takes place from June 14-28, 2009, in four cities across South Africa will bring many visitors who will hunt for the treasure of Africa amidst watching their favourite team in the stadiums.

The 2009 competition will feature Italy (2006 World Cup champions), Spain (2008 European champions), Brazil (2007 South American champions), the United States (2007 Gold Cup champions), Iraq (2007 Asian Cup champions), Egypt (2008 African Cup of Nations champions) and New Zealand (2008 Oceania Nations Cup champions).

THE FARAWAY LAND!

Once upon a time, in a faraway land, there lived a king. His sons and his sons’ sons, having wandered down through Africa, are now settled in the beautiful rolling hills of northern Natal in the land that is now called Zululand. Zululand, the kingdom of the people of heaven.

Nowadays the descendant of this king, King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu is the reigning Zulu Monarch who resides at Nongoma. The Zulus are known as the people of the kingdom of heaven.

Legend has it that this king once lived in Northern Africa and is descended from the liaison between King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba.

Long, long ago on the northern most part of Africa the gods left their mark, when they built the pyramids and temples along the river Nile in the reflection of the great stars of the heavens. Over the centuries these colossal witnesses have stood the test of time to inspire questioning minds to seek for the elusive truth.

Africa……. how poetic is your name?

ESCAPING THE CINDERELLA SYNDROME!

Once upon a time, in a faraway kingdom, Cinderella lived in a mansion with her stepmother and two step sisters. Whilst Cinderella was kind and lovely, her step sisters were selfish and ugly. Cinderella’s stepmother did not like her, and she made her do all the housework and sleep in the attic!!

Cinderella looked on the sunny side of life and made friends with the birds and mice whilst she did her work cheerfully.

One morning the palace messenger appeared at the door!!!!

It just so happened that the King had planned a ball for his son hoping that he would marry and settle down………

By royal command, all eligible maidens were to attend!

Of course Cinderella thought that she could go too and said so!

“Ha! Ha!” screeched the step sisters, and they began making fun of her.

Her stepmother did not see any reason why Cinderella could not attend the ball BUT ONLY……… after she had finished the housework!!!!

Cinderella hurried upstairs to find a suitable dress to wear! It wasn’t long before her step sisters called her to do some extra work and help them to prepare for the ball and iron their dresses!!!

Poor Cinderella, by the time she had finished all the work she was too late to get her own dress ready. “Surprise!” cried the mice and birds. They had scampered down, salvaged some beads and a sash that the step sisters’ had tossed into the corner, and transformed her dress.

“How can I ever thank you enough!” gasped Cinderella.

She slipped on her new dress and blew them a kiss as she hurried out the door.

Drizella and Anastasia were being given a last minute check by their mother and the carriage was waiting for them outside.

The step sisters were shocked to see how beautiful Cinderella looked and noticing the beads around her neck and that she wearing Anastasia’s sash, the step sisters ripped off the sash and snatched the beads from her neck. They tore off all the frills and bows, leaving Cinderella’s dress in tatters.

Then the three of them sailed through the great front door and left in the waiting carriage.

Cinderella rushed into the garden and knelt by a stone bench, sobbing her heart out.

Even though Cinderella had always believed and had faith in her dreams, she cried, “I can’t believe, not anymore…. there’s nothing left to believe in.”

Suddenly a kind-faced little lady appeared sitting on the bench next to her, saying “You can’t go to the ball looking like that!” But we’ll have to hurry…….”

“Oh! You must be …..” said Cinderella.

“Your Fairy Godmother, of course!” said the little lady with the kindly smile.

Then with a few waves of her wand she began making magic! She found a PUMPKIN and turned it into a COACH, Cinderella’s MICE FRIENDS into HORSES, the HORSE, Major, into the COACHMAN, and Bruno, the family DOG, into a FOOTMAN!

“Off you go then, don’t waste any time!”

“But….” Cinderella looked at her tattered dress in dismay!

Suddenly the Fairy Godmother realized this, then with a wave of her wand and the magic words “Bibbidi, bobbidi, boo!” – a shower of starlight whirled around Cinderella. As it melted away, there she stood in a magnificent ball gown and glass slippers.

“It’s like a dream!” exclaimed Cinderella.

“But like all dreams …..this won’t last forever, you only have until midnight and then the spell will be broken….”

Cinderella kissed the Fairy Godmother and away she went in her enchanted coach racing toward the palace.

The King was feeling very grumpy as his son the Prince was not co-operating at all. Just then Drizella and Anastasia were being presented – the Prince just rolled his eyes!

Something caught the Prince’s eye – a beautiful young woman was wandering in the hall just outside the ballroom. She was by far the loveliest maiden that evening. The Prince hurried out of the ballroom, he bowed to Cinderella and taking her by the hand, they walked slowly into the ballroom and began to dance.

Cinderella and the Prince waltzed around and around. Cinderella was sure she was in love, as they had eyes only for each other. They strolled into the garden together and danced beneath the stars. Just as the Prince bent to kiss her, the palace clock began to chime midnight!

“I must go!” said Cinderella.

“Wait!” cried the Prince, “I don’t even know your name!”

But Cinderella ran down the staircase to her coach. In her hurry she left one of her glass slippers behind on the stairs.

The Prince recovered the shoe and took it to the Grand Duke, who issued a proclamation that every young maiden in the kingdom should try on the slipper, until he found the maiden with whom the Prince had fallen in love.

Meanwhile the coach bearing Cinderella was racing home. As it reached the twelfth chime the coach disappeared and Cinderella was left sitting on a pumpkin beside Major and the four mice, with just one twinkling slipper!

All night long the Grand Duke went from house to house trying the glass slipper on all the sleepy maidens. Only when the search reached Cinderella’s house did she realize her dance partner had been the Prince!

Cinderella’s stepmother quickly became suspicious of her dreamy appearance and heard her humming music from the ball. When Cinderella raced upstairs to brush her hair she quickly locked Cinderella in her room!

Anastasia and Drizella elbowed each other out of the way to be the first to try on the glass slipper. They pushed and squeezed as hard as they could, but it was no use.

Meanwhile, Jaq and Gus, the two little mice hurried downstairs and managed to steal the key from her step mother’s pocket. They dragged it upstairs, and set Cinderella free by unlocking the door!

Just as the Grand Duke was leaving he heard a voice calling, “Please wait! May I try it on?” There was Cinderella standing in her work clothes.

As she stood on the stairs, the Grand Duke took one look at her feet and smiled. “Come, my child,” he said, leading her to a chair. But the angry step mother tripped the Footman as he carried the slipper over, and smashed it to pieces.

“Oh no!” wailed the Grand Duke.

“Perhaps this would help,” said Cinderella, taking a glass slipper from her pocket. “I have the other slipper.”

The King jumped for joy, and in no time at all, the Prince married his Cinderella and they lived happily ever after!

Once a year we run a flower arranging competition for florists in the greater Durban area, and this is followed by a demonstration by a leading floral artist. This year was no exception and we were entertained and coaxed into creativity by Jannie and Annette. Soon pics of the competition and demonstration will be posted onto flowerweb – click on news.

Our speciality is functions, weddings and just to show off. We therefore encourage the joining together of like-minded creationists who would like to share their work.

Do this on a daily basis and soon you will have a story, your dream will emerge, and you will know what to do. Do not give up!

And so the tale of this Princess comes to a close.

As the dawning of the Age of Aquarius nears completion and we move into the fullness of this new Age, as pointed to and promised by those who have traveled this path before us, other awakening princesses and princes will begin to live in the light, as ON NO DAY WILL ITS GATES EVER BE SHUT.

In the gospel of John, Jesus says, “In my father’s house there are many mansions.” And again he told them, “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. The man who walks in the dark does not know where he is going. Put your trust in the light while you have it, so that you may become SONS OF THE LIGHT………..”

Her proud parents planned a great festival, showing her off to the neighbours, and so Princess Aurora was betrothed to Phillip, the young son of the neighbouring King.

At the festival, the good faeries bestowed their blessings on the child ……then with a crash of lightening ……uninvited Maleficent arrived……

‘But before the sun sets on her sixteenth birthday, she shall prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and DIE’, Maleficent screamed in fury!.... Then the last good faery spoke…… ‘She shall not die, but just sleep, until her love’s kiss, the spell shall break.’

Some things are true, whether you believe them or not.

It is scientifically proven that;

not only do our individual cells act as “antenna” receiving information from the environment/Universe,

but

they also act as “transmitters” sending information and impacting the Universe/environment around them.

Our light-bodies “LIE IN STATE” fast asleep, having never left the Garden, neither is it possible to be separated from our Source – the LIGHT.

Now that I have at last become a human be-ing instead of a human do-ing, I am full of JOY!!

Once be-ing flows into do-ing, that is true success.

It is not that I sit around contemplating my navel all day – on the contrary – I am a very busy person, however, my busy-ness is secondary to my state of mind – which is peace of mind….

I call it living in my light-body in the New Jerusalem, “where He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more DEATH or MOURNING or CRYING or PAIN, for the old order of things has passed away.”

No longer can my ego (which I call my pain-body) feed on any negative thoughts for I have decided to be conscious and open, ready and receptive to receive the Kingdom which the songs of Isaiah sing:-

But, it is in the garden in a deep sleep that you will find Adam today, controlled by his ego, and wrapped up in his own personal worldview.

At the atomic level matter does not exist with certainty; it only exists as a tendency to exist.

The good faeries decided to disguise themselves and the baby Princess, and raise Princess Aurora as an ordinary peasant girl in an abandoned cottage deep in the forest.

Our “antenna” like receiving receptors situated on the cell membrane

can read

vibrational energy fields, such as

LIGHT

SOUND and

RADIO frequencies.

Therefore our behaviour is controlled by

invisible forces (light, sound, radio)

These receptors on the membrane of the cell give us another dimension – which can awaken to a holistic flow of information – through awareness.

By becoming aware of our thoughts (both past and future), and our controlling ego’s and learning to live in the present moment, ie overcoming ourselves, we can

Everything we see around us is only vibrating energy, vibrating at different frequencies.

Thoughts are energy, vibrating at higher frequencies than matter, which is why we cannot see them. Negative thoughts vibrate at the lower end and positive thoughts at the higher end of the scale.

Our ego’s, develop lives of their own, and take control over us. However, the Kingdom comes ….. the zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this……..

It was Briar Rose’s birthday and whilst she danced with her ‘prince’ the faeries were secretly preparing for her birthday celebration at the castle.

Having blocked all the openings to the cottage the faeries flicked their magic wands. Soon pink and blue magic were shooting up the forgotten unblocked chimney!

Immortality (or eternal life) is the concept of living in physical or spiritual form for an infinite length of time. ^[1]

Spiritual

Briar Rose returned and told the faeries about the young man she had met. ‘This is terrible they cried, as you are already betrothed to a Prince! And we are taking you back to your Father the King to celebrate your birthday.’

Oh dear! Maleficent’s pet raven discovered the birthday plans and flew off to tell his evil mistress. Sadly Briar Rose set out for the castle.

If an object actually reaches the speed of light, time stops completely.

Physicist and author Gerald Schroeder noted that both God and light exist outside of time:

“Einstein showed us, in the flow of light, the corollary of the Eternal Now: I was, I am, I will be.”

Left alone, Aurora, like a sleepwalker, followed a light up the curving stairs. At the top she entered a small chamber. In the middle stood a spinning wheel and a spindle with a sharp needle.

Overcoming myself – my wake up call shares the experience of my conversation with God, and my awakening to my life’s purpose; my connection with Ambrotose,(from the aloe vera plant) a tool to assist in the awakening of consciouness (LIGHT), and tissue salts also called cell salts or biochemic salts (EARTH).

In order to be still, I have learned to rise above my thoughts, and my ego. To be still is just, to be. In order to be my light-body I need to be still.

Awakening entailed realizing that to fulfil my life’s purpose, I needed to align myself with that of the LORD’s purpose for my life,

Mark 14:36 Yet not what I will,

But what you will.”

And this by the Grace of God.

For those God foreknew he also PREDISTINED to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn AMONG MANY BROTHERS. And those he PREDSTINED, he also called; those he called he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. (Rom 8: 29 & 30)

He PREDESTINED us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will. (Eph 1: 5)

In him we were also chosen, having been PREDESTINED according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the PURPOSE OF HIS WILL. (Eph 1: 11)

Knowing that we are predestined gives us only two choices, to go along for the ride - happily or unhappily!!!!!

We can either follow the example of Jonah and run in the opposite direction and be swallowed up by the whale;

Be like the five virgins and have plenty of oil in our lamps,

Abraham who when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went.

Otherwise we will literally miss the boat, like all the people in the days of Noah;

and remain unconscious, ego driven, and suffering;

or partly conscious and able to see the madness of our so-called civilized world, but still locked out from the creative Source.

So I have learned to take care of the small things in life, and not despise humble beginnings as these lead to greatness, slowing life down to three meals a day;

to be still and allow the resurrection power to flow through me.

Stillness taps into the existing “radar system”, of giving and receiving of light and allowing the light to have access to me and through me to the world.

Jesus answered: “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father in me;…..” (John 14 vs 10 & 11)

Stress, negativity, fear and going our own way cuts us off or switches us off from this power, which the Universe / God beams to us.

This happens when we turn away from the present moment, when we think that doing something else is more important, causing us to suffer.

Suddenly Maleficent appeared – lightening flashed – and there stood a dragon shooting flames!

Phillip lifted up his magic sword for protection, then threw his magic sword like a spear, piercing the dragon’s heart. With a dying scream the evil faery fell into the canyon below.

When a beam of light goes through a prism/crystal, the light is refracted so that it appears as a rainbow spectrum. Each colour, though a component of the white light, is seen separately because of its unique frequency. However, if you reverse this process by projecting the rainbow spectrum through the prism/crystal, the individual colours will combine to form a beam of white light.

Jesus said, ……. “Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body also is full of darkness. See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you.” (Luke 11 vs 34 – 36)

The Prince hurriedly walked past the sleeping soldiers and guests in the castle and there on a bed lay Princess Aurora in a deep sleep. She clasped a single red rose. Recognizing her straight away, Phillip kneeled beside the bed to kiss the Princess.

As we are moving from one Age to another, closing one evolutionary cycle and beginning to embark on another, we are understandably apprehensive. I believe that we are being “pressed” into a new way of living, as we have evolved in the past, we will evolve again.

‘History repeats itself’ and repeating patterns of fractal geometry show this to be the case. Geometry is a mathematical assessment of “the way the different parts of something fit together in relation to each other.”

Princess Aurora’s eyelids fluttered. She looked up at her Prince. Her dream had come true! At the very same moment of the prince’s kiss, everyone in the castle began waking up, not even knowing that they had been sleeping.

Just then the trumpeters began to play a loud fanfare, and there walking down the stairs arm-in-arm were Prince Phillip and Princess Aurora.

The healthy human body is a population of trillions of cells (individuals) living in harmony. Through evolution, for billions of years, living cellular systems have been carrying out a peace plan that enables them to survive and enhance their survival.

Disharmony (or cancer) causes cells (individuals) to become HOMELESS, and JOBLESS, with the need to live off other cells (individuals) in the community.

After the earth was formed single-celled organisms evolved. Whilst multiplying they would have bumped into each other and just like humans, wonder if there will be enough for me? However, those single-celled organisms were “pressed” as they searched for a new Way to live. They became multicellular communities. The end result – human beings,….. made a little lower than the heavenly beings.

I believe we will climb the ladder of awareness and become an enlightened community. God created enough of everything for everyone, and all we need do is tap into His Resources.

Just as each of us has one body, with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. (Romans 12 vs 4 & 5)

As long as we function in the belief system called dualism, we will continue to experience

Hot and cold

Positive and negative

Love and fear

Life and death.

Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.

The mind of sinful man is death,

But the mind controlled by the SPIRIT is

LIFE AND PEACE;

(because the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.) …..

But if CHRIST is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your

Crown Prince Ludwig was already fascinated by the music dramas and writings of Richard Wagner. He wanted to bring the composer to Munich as soon as he became king, and realize his dream of an opera festival. In 1864 he summoned Wagner to him and thus rescued him from a serious financial crisis.

The recluse

The ideal monarchical poetic solitude which the king chose for himself was not in the long run compatible with his duties as a head of state. The new settings he was constantly devising for himself were equally beyond the private means of a king. Ludwig failed through his desire to anchor his illusions and dreams in reality.

From 1885 on foreign banks threatened to seize his property. The king’s refusal to react rationally led the government to declare him insane and depose him in 1886 - a procedure not provided for in the Bavarian constitution. Ludwig II was interned in Berg Palace. The next day he died in mysterious circumstances in Lake Starnberg, together with the psychiatrist who had certified him as insane.

CURRENT EVENTS LEAD DOWN MEMORY LANE

Since writing my first blog entry (25 November 2007) so much has happened that I feel I should give a summary of events from the first entry to this penultimate entry which supercedes my final blog, written 30 June – 12 July 2008, but not on the net yet!!!

I am sitting at the dining room table at a unit in the newly completed “Pearls” in my home-village, listening to the ocean, writing. The planned “Pearls” complex and the “Pearls Tide” section of this beautiful complex is situated on the site of the old Umhlanga Rocks Hotel, which was demolished about 3 years ago to make way for this new development. We are not in the already completed tower block, but in one of the front units closest to the sea, between granny’s pool and the new pier. We are probably in the area of where the old hotel’s dining room used to be!!!

This has brought back so many memories for me, as during the Christmas holidays Father Christmas always visited us at this hotel bringing us gifts and throwing a marvelous party, with a Punch and Judy Show and magicians performing tricks. As children we loved this annual event and this usually led to the wonderful long summer days when we had special permission to use the hotel’s swimming pool to cool off in.

My Mum and Dad, who have lived in and around the village since 1952, came over for tea and cake to celebrate our 13^th wedding anniversary, and then stayed for a drink so that they could see the lights on the pier!!! What a change this is from the little village we all so loved.

Over the years Mum and Dad have collected an amazing amount of photographs and information about the village as they remember it and they brought me an article written by MJ O’Connor in “The Quarterly Newsletter of the Natal Inland Family History Society” which has a picture of the old Umhlanga Rocks Hotel ca. 1950 on the cover.

Having just re-read this article again whilst being here at the “Pearls” has given me more time to reflect on the stories and memories that he writes of – which are mostly from before I was even born, but the thing that struck me most is that we had a Rosslyn Cottage in the village!!!

I have lived in two different locations in Umhlanga, the first being 25 Chartwell Drive, now called “The Fountains” and then 66 Chartwell Drive, which my parents built over weekend’s during the early 1960’s.

So this is where this penultimate entry begins, it almost wipes away the newer memories of the past months whereby most of the time we are so busy that there is hardly time for reflection. So back to the present ………

We have now completed our “silly season” being from mid November to mid May every year. Because we are in the fresh cut flower industry, this, in the southern hemisphere, is when our industry blooms as it were!!! Starting during November with end of year and pre-Christmas functions and summer weddings, the season starts with a bang!!

Usually every second year, we travel at the end of October and into early November to visit the annual flower show at the RAU in Amsterdam, getting back just in time to go into the silly season, but last year even though we should have gone we didn’t. Diwali and Eid fell close together at this time, making it impossible for us to travel. And so the annual festivals of different and diverse cultures keep our business busy.

Once the Christmas and New Year rush is over, we escape to the mountains of the Drakensberg to recover and “chill”, and this year was no exception. We stayed in a chalet at Alpine Heath and enjoyed the quiet stillness of the ‘berg! On the walks we enjoyed, there was so much running water and waterfalls that I could not resist taking endless videos and pics with my new cell phone camera!!

Once home from the ‘berg it was straight into Valentine fever!!!! Oh my word, this is the busiest time for us and it is sooooo hot on the east coast of Africa!!!! On the Wednesday before Good Friday our lives were turned topsy turvy when our daughter was thrown off a horse and concussed. Whilst waiting for her to return from the x-ray department to casualty in Entabeni Hospital on Durban’s Berea, I bumped into Peter who had just returned from Thailand.

It was a bitter-sweet reunion as his grandson Joel was in surgery having a large tumour removed from his head. He has since been diagnosed with brain cancer and had another tumour removed and is now having chemo and radiation therapy. This is another story in itself, and prophetically I believe he is on his way to a full recovery.

Fortunately for us, our daughter after a long recovery is much better, and her knees have healed sufficiently for her to begin kite surfing again. She has also joined the new Durban Salsa Club, which is looking for new members.

Life got back into it’s hectic swing, and our domestic helper was still away with TB. She has now resumed work during the month of June and is doing extremely well. In the meantime we resumed band practice and also sang at Twilanga a couple of times. The combined years of experience of our band is almost 200 years, and if you watched “America Has Got Talent” and remember Rapping Granny – you get the idea!!!

During this period I spent a lot time updating my website – focusing on sheet music with the long term vision of showcasing music from the heart of Africa. In the meantime for starters, if you have already recorded your music, no matter if it is a home recording, no matter the quality of the recording, we would like to unite and work towards letting our readers hear your music.

Then on Monday the 21^st April, I found myself sitting enjoying the view of our beautiful new home. I was unable to get going! What on earth was happening? I relaxed and enjoyed the moment which lasted most of the morning!!!! At about 12.15 noon the telephone rang, “We’re at the hospital Mum,” said my son. “Mom and baby are fine.” It’s a girl and I am now a granny!!!!

Oh the joy of seeing them all!! We traveled to the UK to see our gorgeous grand daughter leaving home on 22^nd May after completing the silly season here with Mother’s Day.

During our stay in the UK my daughter and I made contact with her singing partner, who wrote the most beautiful song for our fairytale wedding. Having lost touch for a period of time we traveled for 2 and half hours by car to visit his home in Surrey. It was a wonderful reunion, where we met his lovely British wife and their two beautiful daughters. The long summer evening was even more enjoyable when we were joined by his South African parents with whom I had worked whilst in the music department of a boys private school in Durban.

When we got back we had an invitation to attend a wedding in the wild!!! This took place near Hluhluwe in Zululand (the Kingdom of Heaven) and it was a wonderful relaxing weekend away for us.

Once upon a time, when I first met my Prince on a blind date, we attended a party at Slor’s beautiful home in my home-village, but that is another story …….

Out of the blue on Monday 21 July, when we were packing up to holiday at the “Pearls” my forever friend, Slor gave me a call!!! Being a real estate agent in my home-village and the Mount Edgecombe Estates, she was interested to see what our holiday unit was like. We arranged to meet there and afterwards lunched at the fantastic new health restaurant Gusto’s where, we both downed a wheatgrass shot whilst ‘walking down memory lane”!!!

It was hard to say goodbye to the “Pearls” on Friday morning, so we drove home along Chartwell Drive and took pictures of the location of my original family homes. Number 25 now comprises of two duplexes and gone is the old ‘wood and iron’ structure on stilts that I lived in until we moved to number 66.

Amazingly, as we drove past number 66 (now a holiday home) the maid was cleaning at the front door, and I asked if I could walk around and show it to my husband who had never been inside. It was such a wonderful walk down memory lane and I noticed that even the old piano I learned to play on, is still there, along with the snooker table and a few other items of furniture that we grew up with.

And so it would seem that during my long illness I have suffered and battled to work and play the game of life, but as my healing is coming to completion and my energy levels return, I am discovering that this was no more than a conversation with God. I am convinced that it has saved me from myself, as I would have wandered far down the track into no-man’s land wondering where and why I was going, never finding the way home.

Now, I am in a place of perfect peace, knowing God, past the believing, and having learned to

THE AGE OF AQUARIUS

The exact year the Age of Aquarius began is under debate. Some astrologers feel it began as early as World War II and some think it may have even began earlier, in the late 19th century. Psychiatrist and astrology advocate Carl Jung believed it would begin in the 1990s. However, most astrologers agree that by the year 2000, the Age of Aquarius had begun.

What does the Age of Aquarius mean to us? Let's look at the sign of Aquarius itself. The song gives us a bit of a hint

Aquarius is the sign of brotherhood. The Age of Aquarius could mean the removal of country borders and the uniting of the brotherhood of mankind.

The fact that Aquarius is a mental sign means better understanding of things including society, our lives, and the problems we all face.

Wealth and fame will not be valued as much as learning and achievement.

Aquarius is also the sign of scientific knowledge and invention. We have certainly seen a rash of that in the past 100 years.

From the invention of the television to the airplane, from the invention of the telephone to the computer and Internet, we have seen more technological inventions in our lifetime than any other generation.

We have the ability to carry all the music we own with us while being able to call anyone from anywhere with a cell phone.

However, the sign of Aquarius also has negative aspects to it. Inflexibility and indecision as well as selfish desires may also be part of the new age. Some believe the end times will come during the Age of Aquarius and some think it will be the greatest period in history.

However, ultimately, the new Age of Aquarius offers us hope that mankind can focus on future and overcome any negativity that may come with it. Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius and it is known as the planet of the future. A new age of amazing scientific discoveries and great intellectual growth is upon us - what we decide to do with it is up to us.

Astrological Ages

Early Babylonian astrologers named the zodiac signs after actual constellations of stars.

When studying the sky, they noticed that the sun travelled through the same constellations each year.

The Sun traces a path through the sky called an ecliptic. As the Sun travels this path, it passes through each of the twelve zodiac signs.

The beginning of each astrological year is marked by the vernal equinox. This is when the sun crosses the line, known as the celestial equator, which divides the sky into northern and southern parts.

The vernal equinox occurs in the spring and begins the first zodiac sign (Aries), while the autumnal equinox occurs in the fall and begins the second half of the zodiac with the seventh sign, Libra.

The zodiac sign of the constellation in which the Sun actually appears at the vernal equinox in the northern hemisphere defines each new astrological age. This happens approximately once every 2,000 years.

Greek astronomer Hipparchus discovered the precession of the equinoxes in the 2nd century. This phenomenon is sometimes referred to as the Earth's "wobble."

He discovered that the Earth shifts positions as it spins. This changes the placement of the celestial equator.

Now, what does all this mean? It means that over time, the vernal equinox actually takes place in a different constellation. When the Babylonian astrologers designed the zodiac, the vernal equinox took place in the constellation of Aries.

But, by the time of the birth of Christ, the vernal equinox took place in the constellation of Pisces.

Estimates say that around the year 2000, the vernal equinox will be found in the constellation of Aquarius.

Wow! Once again having attended Grace Family Church in my home-village Sunday 10,00am, I am wondering if Mark (Senior Pastor) has read my blog posted earlier that morning!!

We need to KNOW GOD in order to TRUST Him, by building a relationship with Him. This leads to RESURRECTION POWER which when applied to situations and circumstances whereby we are SUFFERING, leads to our ability to OVERCOME.
In other words our belief system is first and foremost, believing that by knowing God and trusting Him, He will help us to overcome our daily situations.
The reverse belief system, bringing a downward spiral, believing there is no God or to not KNOW GOD and TRUST Him; The perceived separation asks “What kind of a God allows this kind of suffering / war / situation etc”, and the situation / SUFFERING OVERCOMES us, as there is NO POWER, and instead of RESURRECTION or regeneration, degeneration occurs ………..

Recently, results of the Human Genome Project have shattered one of Science’s fundamental core beliefs, the concept of genetic determinism. OVERCOMING MYSELF - MY WAKE UP CALL!!!

My quest for the Holy Grail begun in earnest in 1984, and escalated with a sense of urgency, when I collapsed in 1994, was bedridden and unable to work for 3 months. I have learned that overcoming myself - entailing; my search for my twin soul, my ailments, my emotional setbacks, my perceived personal attacks from others, my struggles, illusions and perceived separation - is a holy communion with God. Not my will be done - Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven!

THIS IS MY STORY............

Glyconutrients – Start date 3 May 2007 to 31 January 2008

When I was three months old I had a red birth mark on my left wrist, which appeared to be growing!
The doctor my parents consulted said it could be cancerous and that a new treatment available in South Africa could help.
The treatment – radium!!! Of course this is used often in treatments today, but here is my story anyway.
The doctor used a pair of tweezers to put several radium capsules onto a bangle of elastoplast and then this was strapped around my wrist and kept there for a half an hour.
The results!!
Needless to say the burn was horrible!!!
My wrist formed a huge brown scab from the burn which cracked from the movement. Fortunately, I don’t remember much – but evidently I screamed, and screamed, and screamed!!!
Over the years the wrist healed and left a very dark motley brown burn scar, with a definite raised, curved line running across it where the crack in the scab had been.

Life went on, and even as a small child I rose early and went to bed early – often just at sunset, which is latest around 7pm summer time and earliest around 5,30pm winter time.
It was around 14 years old I really started struggling with my health. At first it was in small ways – a common cold became a really severe cold.
I was always fatigued! I was always struggling to keep awake after 7pm in the evenings.
I suffered with abnormal stiffness from any extra or unusual physical exertion, even though I played lots of sport. I was/am extremely sensitive to the cold and my thumb and forefinger of my left hand become numb when the temperature drops below about 20 deg C.

As I got older I struggled more. Being pregnant was a nightmare and when I was induced for both my children I passed out from the pain. I remember a little of the labour giving birth to my son, but my daughter’s birth is a blur.

During my second pregnancy (my daughter) I contracted Hepatitus B before I even knew for sure that I was pregnant. I was really ill throughout and after she was born I weighed only 48 kilos!! As she was premature the incubator was brought in on standby, as the doctor predicted that she would not be more than 3lbs! Miraculously she weighed in at 6lbs 8ozs.

After each pregnancy I struggled for years to get my strength back, but thought that this was normal and that everyone had the same problem!
During the 1980‘s I was treated for thyroid problems, I took tranquillisers for a period and in early 1984 I had a very bad bout of iritis which I was told indicated that I had some serious underlying disease. I was sent for various tests – cancer, TB, etc but nothing showed up. This problem has only gone away since I have been on the glyconutrients, with even my impaired sight being nearly restored!

In 1994 I collapsed! I was not able to work for three months! After the usual tests - I had been diagnosed with bowel cancer! Oops! The barium enema did not reveal where! Two months later I was ready for the second barium enema, and that was when I decided to see an Ayurvedic GP – Dr Rajen Cooppan – our Deepak Chopra of Southern Africa.

This was a turning point in my life!! I am forever grateful to Dr Cooppan for his knowledge, expertise, and most of all introducing me to the glyconutrients amongst other precious “jewels”!!
I have been slowly regaining my strength ever since I started the programme that he prepared for me in early 1994.

The shocker came in November 1999 when I was introduced to The Best System. The test revealed that I had radio active fallout – levels were as high as if I had been present at the Chernobyl melt-down. I was stunned!
It took 4 – 6 weeks for the poisons to leave my body and I was very ill during that time.
Since then my progress has been steady and remarkable, the only problem being that as I feel better I do more and stress my body all over again.
Traveling is particularly challenging for me as I have so much stuff to carry and then it is not always easy to take it regularly or when desperately needed. Therefore I relapse and often spend days in bed whilst away from home and only improve once home, and am able to strictly adhere to my health regime. Even day outings entail packing a bag just like one would for a baby.

Things I carry with me on a daily basis are:
1. Glyconutrients
2. Tissue Salts – especially no 8 Mag Phos
3. Iron tablets
4. Sportron - neurotron and respitron
5. 2 x bottles of water

Major problems that needed treating:
1. Gastro-intestinal – diagnosis – collapse of my digestive system, including suggested cancer of the bowel. Crumbling teeth, with receding and bleeding gums, biting and sucking on the inside of my mouth.
2. Symptoms involving reproductive organs and menstrual irregularities.
3. Skin – loss of elasticity / liver spots / pimples
4. Hair – lustreless and unmanageable – becoming sticky and tangled with a handful of hair loss at every washing. Touching the hair became very painful.
5. Palpitations and thumping in my head - for the past 2 ½ years I have had a “thumping” in my head – similar to palpitations in one’s heart, which I experience from time to time as well. The thumping in my head happens daily, towards the end of every day.

I take numerous products other than the glyconutrients, some I buy from Dr Cooppan, a lot are bought from health shops and some are network marketing health products.

Even the dark brown scar from the radium burn is getting lighter and hardly noticeable.

Needless to say – it takes me a lot of the time in a day to buy, collect, and take all the products that keep me going!! This brings a lot of criticism from anyone who finds out what it entails to keep me up and about. These products are also very expensive, but well worth it.

In July 2006 my health was so challenged due to too much traveling and too many things to do in a day, that I found that I had to start resting for at least half of the day! A lot of the time I could not get up after a long sleep or even though lying down because my body was so stressed and racing inside I was unable to sleep.
This has carried on right up until now.
The only difference being that in the past 3 months (since mid October) I now rest because I want to – it makes good sense when you get up at 4,15am and retire after 10 most nights. I have decided that I am going to rest when I feel tired, but nowadays I can get up when ever I feel like it – before I could not!!!

The most important thing is that I am not overwhelmed by my life and what needs doing anymore. I enjoy everything I am doing because I am not exhausted all the time. I am happy for the first time in my life!!
The minute I take too little glyconutrients I start to feel overwhelmed and everything I have to do in a day is a struggle. All I do now that I know what I know, …… is take a little more glyconutrients – Manna from Heaven.

I am feeling so much better - it is miraculous.
I have sat and typed up my long overdue testimony. People have been asking for this for years – I am only ready now! I only have the energy now!

I have been wrestling with God about what He is asking me to write here – thus the delay!
Around the same time that the word ALIYAH was revealed to me I was searching the book of Job, life was such a struggle, but I was sure glad that it was not quite as bad as what had happened to Job. Still I was in agony!!!
Another book that I had my attention focused on was Chapter 1 of the book of Matthew – the birth of Christ – but the questions I was raising were about the genealogy as it was written down!
The virgin birth first caught my attention. Suddenly being single – what would it be like if I suddenly became pregnant? What would a woman do? More’s the question, what would I do?
I then researched other women who had mysteriously become pregnant – Elizabeth was easy to find, as her drama was being played out in the book of Luke Chapter 1 vs 5 – 80 along with the birth of Jesus. Then Sarah came to mind – so I checked her circumstances out – not good!!! Then Samson’s mother, who was married to the Danite named Manoah, had a similar experience see Judges 13 – this turned out quite well in the early days – I thought. Horror of horrors though at how Samson died – please don’t let that happen to my child! Nevertheless, I began to think of the reality of the lives of these women in comparison to my life – the outcome – not good!!!! What would you do?

Then the genealogy attracted my attention – what was the big deal about all this parenthood – mostly FATHERHOOD - when it was the women carrying the can so to speak!! Hello what is going on here? The women get disgraced, ridiculed, laughed at (or in Sarah’s case does the laughing herself – her desire is soooo overdue!) and to carry the baby (for 9 months, and in Mary’s case, travel a substantial distance on a donkey in her 9th month and give birth in a stable) all for only the fathers to be mentioned!!!! Hello – except for the following women – but wait a minute – LOOK WHO THEY ARE!! What kind of a life did they have?

Wow!!! I will say it backwards – WOW!!!

Who would want the job? Even if you have found favour with God – how about living the rest of your life amongst your judgmental fiancé/husband/boyfriend, family and friends who constantly have to help you feed the little *&@! mite! The gift from God!!

Wonder why I was thinking this way! Well I had clearly been given a revelation that I would end up just like Mary!!!! What a great time to tell me – single Mum with two kids – you know what I was going through!! I mean how ridiculous was this message???
Ok I thought, so if that is your side of the deal, what is my side of the deal?
How would it work? How would I cope? How would I know what to do? At least the others (Mary, Sarah, Elizabeth – they all had a boyfriend or husband – I did not!) It was ludicrous!!

This conversation with God went on for quite awhile and eventually I asked – okay so……. To which tribe do I belong?
JUDAH – came the reply!
Oh well that could be good or it could be bad – what exactly does it mean? Now I really needed a Jewish friend to explain all this to me …….

IT’S TIME TO MAKE ALIYAH!

The Hebrew word for immigration (aliyah) means ascent or a spiritual going up.

Whether you are Jewish or not - It’s time to make aliyah!

A long, long time ago, in 1984 to be precise! Through my tears and anguish over the loss of my marriage and the dissolution of my family - I was only just learning the pain of divorce, I cried out to God and He said….. ALIYAH!!

What on earth did it mean? I had absolutely no idea! At that time I was searching the Scriptures and Revelation 2 mentioned that overcomers receive a new name only known to themselves, and for many years that is what I believed it to be and mean.

Revelation 2 vs 17 - He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it.

I prayed and prayed to meet a Jewish person who could explain a lot of the Scriptures to me and in 2002 my prayers were answered. I met, through organic vegetable farming, my very dear born-again Jewish forever friend. This Princess and daughter of the King taught me so much, but the blessing she brought was The Lord’s Supper Celebration - the knowledge of the key of Sabbath-keeping!

So making aliyah was explained to me.

Nowadays of course all one has to do is…… a google search!!!! It’s all there for anyone to see!

The golden pyramid of the New Jerusalem, as is told, has 12 gates …..

Revelation 21 vs 12 - 14

It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west. The wall of the city had twelve foundations and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the lamb.

Which Jewish name will you bear when you arrive at the gates - and which gate will you be able to enter? Or is the New Jerusalem only for Jews - who incidentally don’t read the New Testament unless they are born-again - gets you thinking now doesn’t it?

My Crown Prince and I attended the over-crowded 8am church service at the Grace Family Church in my home village Christmas morning. Having been nearly blown away by the introductory music - which is so loud and almost shouted out - blow me down with a feather - the message came, entitled - WHAT’S IN A NAME?

Could the pastor, Mark, have read my blog? His theme - the good old-fashioned faerytale - obviously featuring the star-crossed lovers or TWIN SOULS - Romeo and Juliet and their not so happily ever after!!!! His point being the importance of a name - Jesus!

From the Songs of Isaiah!

Leaving the church became something of a nightmare - having left the faerytale and the happily ever after behind - and the hope that the new President of the ANC Jacob Zuma will be OK - the congregation needs policing to get out the parking lot and to OBEY THE RULES OF THE ROAD!

Yes, in order for the next bunch of believers to arrive on time for the 9,30am service the Metro Police were called to dutifully insist, by carefully placed orange cones at the entrance, that all believers TURN LEFT and DO NOT CROSS OVER THE SOLID WHITE LINE AND TURN RIGHT TO GO INTO THE VILLAGE (thus endangering the lives of on-coming motorists and their own) AND ensuring a more steady flow of traffic - making it QUICKER for us all to get away!!!

Self-governance and the decision to do what is right has not yet hit home!!!

What will happen when the last part of the song of Isaiah takes precedence -

Living the Faerytale - Part 1

Having married at 19, had two children by the age 22, and divorced by age 29, I had clearly lived the fairytale without the happily ever after!

Totally disillusioned I decided - I’m the man. This was 1984!

I was brought up, as is common these days for girls, to be educated and take up a career in the same way that men do - encouraged to regard marriage and bringing up our own children although seriously, but something to be taken on, after/during focusing on our careers!!! Clearly I did not see marriage/motherhood as a full-time, hands-on, this is what I want to succeed at, let me put all my energy and focus on, quest!!! I naively assumed this would all sort itself out as life went along!

Once my children were of school going age my worldview was severely shaken up. Working as a secretary at the time, I suddenly thought being a teacher would have been a far better career option as I could then work and be with my children when they finished school!! When making my career choice as a school leaver this was furthest from my mind - the last career I wanted to do was - nursing or teaching.

Once divorced I realized to be I’m the man, I needed to earn more than a meager secretaries wage - I wanted to be the boss!

About a year of being the boss in a business that I took over from my Granny was enough for me and I decided to take up my first love - music and combine it with my new found career option to earn a living and I started teaching guitar!

Soon I was music assistant to the Director of Music at a prominent private Durban boys preparatory school - and writing my own songs - 1987/88.

Living the Faerytale - Part 2

During this period I met and married another prince!!! This time however, I became the Wicked Stepmother - this was around the time of the release of the movie My Stepmother’s an Alien I never got to see the movie, but I know that this title made lots of sense to my step children at the time!

This marriage lasted about 18 months and left me pretty exhausted to say the least.

The chaos that we experienced when two ready made families amalgamated was more than any of us could bear!

A statistic once again at the ripe old age of 33 - I, who did not believe in divorce - was devastated and broken hearted.

Because of the chaos and sibling rivalry going on during my 2^nd marriage, my two children had decided to go to live with their Dad and stepmother - my worst nightmare had come true!

The Light at the End of the Tunnel

Having lost my home for the second time I packed all that I could fit into my little Nissan bakkie and moved into a rented room About 8 months later I had managed to rent a cottage and even though I had no furniture this was much better than sleeping on a mattress on the floor in my one room!

My devastation at being a statistic was complete - but I hung on to the thought -

For every Adam there is an Eve.

One day I threw myself face down on the mattress and cried - Beam me up Scottie - if this is it - then beam me up - for I have no purpose here. After hours of crying of course there I still was - going nowhere fast!! But a peace that passes all understanding was mine!

Weekends in my little cottage were very lonely, and I spent most of the time sleeping (I had many symptoms of ME - but that is another story). I could go to bed on a Friday night and wake up Sunday morning - eat - and go back to sleep until Monday morning when I had to go back work!

One such weekend on the 16th December 1990, I was feeling very low, and grabbing my guitar I started strumming the beat of a waltz that was to turn into a yearning love song for yet another chance at the faerytale in order to get to the part I had twice missed - the happily ever after!!

I was way past the stage of blaming this one or that, this circumstance or that and had grown to realize that even though I had not been perfect in both marriages - but neither had they - the princes - I deserved another shot! This time I would follow the star given to me - no matter what!

Alienated from family and friends - no one understood my pain, my circumstances, my situation, my decisions - I longed to be understood and accepted for who I am - warts and all!

On the 22^nd December 1990, by a miracle, rent by the Stars and the Source of my light, engineered by my lioness forever friend, I met my Lion Prince! We have been together ever since - all of 17 years this December 22^nd and married for 12 and a half years a month later on 22^nd January 2008!

It all began ……..

Once upon a time …….. oh yes, first we had the faerytale (this too is another story) and only after killing many dragons, we finally reached…………

……..and they lived happily ever after.

Once I realized that the Garden Of Eden in the Bible is actually the garden of my mind, everything started to make good sense. When I understood Genesis 2, when Adam is told not to eat from the tree as he will surely die, means do not eat from the tree as you will surely lose your mind - everything became clear to me.

As a result of this revelation and having regained my mind, I have slowed my life down to three meals per day. That means every day is spent, planning, purchasing, and preparing three nutritious home cooked / home prepared meals. Hectic you might say! Not in the least - I am so blessed and enjoying every minute of my life.

The young king

In 1864 Ludwig II acceded to the throne at the age of 18 without any experience of life or politics, but adored by women. Looking back in 1873, he described it thus:

Ludwig II increasingly identified himself with Parzival, the legendary medieval figure who became Grail King through his purity and faith and thereby redeemed his sin-laden uncle. The inner battle for freedom from sin and purity is distressingly evident in the diaries of the extremely pious king. This particular legend is the subject of Richard Wagner’s last work Parsifal which he began in 1877. Wagner and his circle privately referred to the king as Parsifal and his problems were incorporated into the drama of the Grail. Neuschwanstein, originally a monument to the minnesingers of medieval times, was reinterpreted as the Castle of the Holy Grail and the Throne Room was redesigned as the Hall of the Holy Grail - dedicated to the mystery of salvation for the world.

Ludwig II was possessed by the idea of a holy kingdom by the Grace of God. In reality he was a constitutional monarch, a head of state with rights and duties and little freedom of action. For this reason he built a fantasy world around him in which - far removed from reality - he could feel he was a real king. From 1875 on he lived at night and slept during the day.

Idealized designs by scene painters for a New Hohenschwangau Castlehigh above the tranquil Hohenschwangau of Ludwig II’s father, a Byzantine Palace and a copy of Versailles were already in existence by 1868. From the beginning, Ludwig’s fantasy world embraced several different epochs. The New Castle(subsequently Neuschwanstein), was based on Christian kingship in the Middle Ages, and the new Versailles, built from 1878 on the Herreninsel, recalls the baroque absolutism of the Bourbon King of France. Linderhof in the Graswangtal, built from 1869, imitates a variety of styles, with the help of the latest technology.

THE AWAKENING OF THE SLEEPING BEAUTY

Once upon a time there lived a little girl, in a small now-famous village on the east coast of Africa , who grew up to be a princess. When she realized that she had been born with a golden crown filled with light and love, she decided to open the door and let that light shine out to the whole wide world!

It wasnt’ always like that. Life was a struggle, strained relationships, broken marriages, single parenting, financial difficulties, major health issues she could have written a book with all the episodes, traumas and tragedies of her life.

But once she realized she was a Princess who lived in the now, all that changed like Cinderella, into the happily ever after that we are all searching for.

Long, long ago in the early 1970’s this Princess bought herself the book Linda Goodman Love Signs A New Approach to the Human Heart. In this book, she read the saying:

If it is negative, it didn’t happen, except in the world of illusion.

She wondered how that could be when everything around her was tattered and torn, in pain, crying, and as sure as it was born - dying, sometimes a slow death and sometimes a jarring, shattering, shocking sudden death.

This is what happened to her marriage of nearly ten years. The shock of a divorce is something most people do not recover from. The scars, the suffering and the pain go on, and on, and on, the curse goes down to the fourth generation leaving the children in despair!

Where, oh where is (love?) my Twin Soul? she would cry!

LIVING THE FAERYTALE

HERE I AM! I STAND AT THE DOOR AND KNOCK!

The peaceful air of this quiet Sunday morning was shattered by the ringing of my husband cell phone! The alarm was going off at our business premises, and the incoming call was from our security company saying that they suspect a break-in!! The time 5,27am!!!

Ten minutes later my husband called the security company to find out that it was a break-in but when the call out car arrived the suspects had already left! My husband had a quick shower and drove the ten minutes to see what was happening.

He is still not back as he is busy with the police!

It is another cloudy day here in Umhlanga, which is situated about 15 minutes drive north from the greater Durban area of a normally sunny South Africa! The wind is picking up and I wonder if the kite surfers will be able to harness it later on, down at kite beach just north of the Sun Coast Casino and just south of our famous river mouth the Umgeni, which is commonly known as the Blue Lagoon!!

But all is well here at home! The birds are still busy making their nest under the eaves of our patio! This is the 3^rd within the month of November. The first one blew down. It had 3 little eggs in it which cracked and splattered on the beautiful porcelain tiles! The little sparrows then attempted to make another nest on the other side under the eaves this one blew away within a few days. And yesterday they began making another home in the same spot as the first nest had been. Every day busy they are bringing pieces of grass most of which fall down the minute they stuff them into the gap in the eaves and litter the patio! They never take the fallen piece and try again they fly off and find another more suitable piece to use! Never tiring of their daily work, and already the nest has taken good shape.

The butterflies are hopping and skipping amongst the plants beside the pool and the water from the little waterfall at the pool is splashing merrily! The sea is a beautiful blue/grey and appears to be calm and placid for the time being! Even though it rained during the night, the road and wooden sun-deck is dry and it is altogether a glorious morning!

And my husband is on his way home; it is 7,30am!

As we are moving from one Age to another, closing one evolutionary cycle and beginning to embark on another, we are understandably apprehensive. I believe that we are being “pressed” into a new way of living, as we have evolved in the past, we will evolve again.

‘History repeats itself’ and repeating patterns of fractal geometry show this to be the case. Geometry is a mathematical assessment of “the way the different parts of something fit together in relation to each other.”

An example of self-similar patterns, are the famous and ever popular hand-painted Russian dolls that nest within each other.

The healthy human body is a population of trillions of cells (individuals) living in harmony. Through evolution, for billions of years, living cellular systems have been carrying out a peace plan that enables them to survive and enhance their survival.

Disharmony (or cancer) causes cells (individuals) to become HOMELESS, and JOBLESS, with the need to live off other cells (individuals) in the community.

I believe we will climb the ladder of awareness and become an enlightened community. God created enough of everything for everyone, and all we need do is tap into His Resources.

As long as we function in the belief system called dualism, we will continue to experience

Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.

The mind of sinful man is death,

But the mind controlled by the SPIRIT is

LIFE AND PEACE;

(because the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.) …..

But if CHRIST is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your

SPIRIT IS ALIVE BECAUSE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.

And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit,
